Three hundred international guests brought by boat to a seventeenth-century island palace for an evening of floral barges, kinetic lotus lamps that opened at dusk and a midnight sitar recital on the upper terrace.

The brief
Everything — guests, kitchens, power, staging — had to cross the lake by boat, and the palace terrace has a strict load limit.
What we did
Eight floral barges carried the décor and doubled as the arrival procession. Power ran on silent generators moored off the island, the kitchen was staged on a service pontoon, and the terrace recital used unamplified sitar with a small audience by design.
What it delivered
All three hundred guests were landed and returned within the harbourmaster's window, and the terrace load limit was never exceeded.
