The brief
The couple's families are musicians, and they wanted a full orchestra as the centrepiece of the celebration dinner without amplification drowning the terrace. The villa's lawns could not carry the stage weight, and lake regulations restricted anchoring.
What we did
We designed a glass-decked barge tuned as an acoustic shell, secured mooring permits fifty metres offshore, and used directional sound design zoned so the orchestra played at full dynamic range while guests could talk at the table. The four-day programme moved between the villa, the lake and the town with a private boat schedule.
What it delivered
The orchestra performed two full sets with no monitoring complaints from the shoreline tables, the barge was struck within twenty-four hours, and the estate reported no damage to lawns or terraces.
